Meet the Tetley Tea Folk

Gaffer
Is the oldest Tetley Tea Folk, he worked his way from being the Tetley tea boy to the head of the Tetley tea folk. He first appeared in 1973 as the star of Tetley teas first advert. It is said that Gaffer is a bit of a perfectionist; after all, making the best cup of tea in the World is a big responsibility and he truly understands just how important Tetley tea is to people.

Sydney
 Is the second oldest of the Tetley Tea Folk he first appeared in a commercial in 1975. Sydney is a kind and gentle fellow, who is still a little bit clumsy and not the brightest bulb in the bunch but we love him all the same and he sure know how to make a grate cupper in a crisis.


Maurice
Maurice first appeared in 1982. A mechanically minded engineering genius whose machines help to keep Tetley at the cutting edge of tea technology. He's also quiet, unassuming but still one of our beloved Tetley tea folks.

Clarence the "Waker Upper"
Clarence first appeared in 1989 commercial. He makes sure all the Tetley Tea Folk get to work on time. He is fun loving happy and exuberant, a young, cheeky character whose occasional over-enthusiasm. When it comes to his tea duties, Clarence is a serious hard-worker who is learning to take more responsibility.
Gordon
Gordon is first appeared in 1989 commercial. Gordon is the Tetley Tea Folk gardener. He is the quiet, knowledgeable caretaker who lovingly and methodically maintains the Tetley Tea Garden.
 

 
Tina
Tina first appeared in 1990 commercial. She is caring, fun-loving and helpful and is also the only girl of the Tetley Tea Folk. Her straightforward approach to life means that she is often called upon to provide a listening and understanding ear.

Archie
Archie first appeared in 1993 commercial, and is the youngest of the Tea Folk. Archie is Gaffer’s nephew and although he is fascinated by Tetley tea, and is being groomed to one day step into Gaffer’s famous slippers, he is still at school. Archie is full of life and always inquisitive. This enquiring and mischievous nature has occasionally lands him in deep water until his Uncle Gaffer helps him out.

  1. I really miss the animated Tetley Tea folk especially the old bespectacled man Gaffer. The songs they did parodies of were great and there are other fans of Tetley Tea who would like to see them return to our screens.

  2. I love the Tetley characters. Not sure why everything changed but I don't like it. Love the tea, but not liking the absence of the Tetley Tea Folks.
    Please bring them back. The world could use a bit of whimsy with their tea. I know I sure could.
